Hippity Hoppity Toddler Poncho

Kaitlyn's Poncho
This poncho pattern is from Australian's Women's Weekly. The pattern calls for Cleckheaton Gusto, but I used Lion Brand's Jiffy Thick and Quick in Plum. I used size 15 needles in order to get the proper gauge.

I altered the collar on this pattern, changing it from a rolled collar to a split collar. I wasn't entirely sure how to do the rolled collar since at the time I hadn't done anything in the round yet, and I also thought the split collar might be more convenient and comfortable for a toddler. The edging was done in double crochet per the pattern. My mother showed me how to crochet the edging, but I doubt I could remember how to do it again. Figures.

I had problems with this pattern, but it's free, so I guess I shouldn't complain. Aside from a few downright errors, I couldn't figure out the directions for the front of the pattern. I even asked my knitting junkie friend Mara and she didn't understand it either. So, I just did the back twice and seamed them together. It looked great!
