I can't count. Deep dark secrets of a bad knitter.
Obviously I can't count. Or something. Here are the two other hats I knitted with the same pattern as the pink one with the booties. This time I used size 10 needles and Lion Brand's Wool-Ease Chunky in Fisherman. The second one (left in the photo) is a bit smaller than the first. Maybe I knitted tighter or something. I knitted the top seam better on the second and the shaping in general looks better, so go figure. The larger of the two fits my daughter, who is nearly 20 months old. Next project: A scarf for my husband knitted in a double moss or seed stitch. Last I tried single moss stitch it didn't look right, so this could be good practice.

I just started to learn how to knit. I was afraid that it would cut into my writing time (because I'm doing so much of that lately. . .), but not only is it a relaxing past-time, but it frees my mind to ponder my writing. I actually came up with some new scenes for my WIP while working on these booties and newborn hat for my cousin's brand new daughter Morgen.
